Hickory Golf is Great for your Game!
For those of you who participated in the recent Hickory Golf Classic, thank you for supporting the event and our Blind and disabled golf program. The event was great fun and an interesting experience for everyone involved.
If you haven’t tried Hickory golf, you don’t know what you are missing. It is not only a great challenge and a lot of fun, but your game will improve as well. Using vintage hickory clubs puts a premium on relaxing, feeling smooth rhythm and timing. They enable you to feel your own swing without worrying about mechanics and fancy theories about what is supposed to a technically correct way to swing a golf club. WE DONT CARE!!
Playing golf is about having fun! It’s about good timing, feeling the rhythm and knowing your own tendencies to manage your way around the course. This is my opinion, and once again I happen to be correct.
I like to use Hickory golf clubs as a training tool to help my students learn these aspects of the game. They do develop a better understanding of timing, tempo and balance, as well as an understanding of the golf swing and the game. I would like to challenge you to try them. You are welcome to use my clubs, (I have six sets), and see what happens. If you can swing smooth enough to hit solid shots with hickory, you can hit anything!
As always go well and have fun out there,
Bob K
